Child Care Assistance ProgramAudubon Area is a service agent for the Kentucky Child Care Assistance Program in thirty-four western and central Kentucky counties. Responsibilities include determining program eligibility, matching clients to available resources, and processing provider payments. There are four offices located in Paducah, Hopkinsville, Owensboro and Bowling Green. Seven other primary office locations are staffed part-time with the Director and payments staff located in the central office. Eligibility is limited to those households receiving benefits from public assistance programs (KTAP) or with an income below 165% of the federal poverty guideline. Care must be needed for a parent to work, attend school or training, a teen parent to finish high school or to provide protection for a child. Children must be under 13 or be diagnosed with having a special need. Care can be provided by a relative, licensed center, certified family care or a private enrolled provider. Persons living in the same household as the family cannot be paid for providing care. |
