Weatherization ... Energy Conservation



The Weatherization Assistance Program is the nation’s largest residential energy efficiency program. The program employs personnel and methods which offer the latest technical knowledge and tools to produce a dwelling's maximum energy conservation capacity aimed at reducing the cost of energy for low income families.

The mission of the Kentucky Weatherization Assistance Program is to improve energy efficiency, household safety, and to educate the public about maintaining energy efficiency. The program's focus is on low income families and children, the elderly, and the disabled.

Partnership and Funding

WKG Cares
Western Kentucky Gas (WKG), CARES contributed to 45 homes being weatherized this past year. The additional funds allowed Weatherization to repair faulty plumbing, install water heaters, etc. WKG contributed over $54,000 toward assisting low-income customers. Thanks for your continued partnership!

HOME Program
In 1999, Audubon received $166,914 in HOME funds. This grant/loan, funding for a two year period, allowed the demolition and re-building of three homes. The first home was in Owensboro, the second, in Beaver Dam and the third was located in Whitesville. For a services summary, please click more.
